248 Pencils has captured every performance of the Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers since September, 2012. Now, we’re following the Society’s creator, curator and host, Satori Shakoor, as she brings her passion for storytelling to students in Detroit high schools through a series of workshops. “Twisted High – Scholars & Storytellers” will document the workshops, the students, their stories and their final performances in front of a live audience.

The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers convenes monthly in venues throughout Detroit. The five stories performed on November 16th at the Pangea Gallery carried the theme: “Thankful.”

We’re thankful for curator and host Satori Shakoor’s vision and determination to bring this unique series to the City; and thankful to be able to provide video production services for these events. This 2-minute video is the introduction for the performance DVD – short clips from each story become the navigation buttons for the disc.
